Traces

Cooperation project between Instituto-E, IMELS - Italian Ministry for the Environment, Land, and Sea, and the Forum of the Americas, with the collaboration of Senai-Cetiqt. The purpose of Traces was to map the carbon footprint and socioenvironmental impacts of six Osklen products made with e-fabrics: organic and natural cotton, recycled cotton and PET plastic, eco-jute in arapaima (pirarucu) leather, and organic silk.

Specialists from both countries traveled through Brazil from north to south for months, to study the supply chain of each of these six products, from the source of raw materials to the end of the product's shelf life. In addition to providing sustainable models, the project contributed to improving social initiatives, assessing greenhouse gas emissions, and also identifying possible mitigation measures to minimize environmental impacts.
